What is Suzuki Method?

Dr Shinichi Suzuki(above) created the his world famous method in post WW2 Japan. It's central features are;

-It has nothing to with motorbikes!
-talent is not born but acquired.
-the mother tongue method,Learn an instrument at a young age aurally (without the worry or need of reading music)  like a child learns a language.
-emphasis of teacher pupil parent TRIANGLE. parents are the best teaching assistants even non musical one!
-To create not only very capable musicians but also noble human beings through their passion of music.

Please watch the  below video for more insight and feel free to ask any questions by email or phone.
Suzuki's translated biography  Nurtured by Love is also a great research tool for any extra keen parent. It reads a lot better in Japanese as some words have no western equivalent.

About me
I started playing the violin aged 4 under the tutelage of Felicity Lipman within the Suzuki network. By Aged 11 he had won a music scholarship to Dulwich College. He attended Junior Guildhall school of Music studying with Felicity Lipman and Kryzstof Smietana.
I later studied for a Bmus at the Royal Northern College of Music  and then a further 2 years at the  Guildhall School of Music and Drama with Professor Mark Knight and Jon Morton playing the viola too. After music college Alex spent time freelancing both as a violinist and violist in various UK orchestras and has taught privately since 2005. Since 2016 he has been an official Suzuki teacher with a growing stable of new students.
